- "This book was written to summarize and to simplify a short period in the lives of Native Americans in the Land of the Indians. It illustrates the philosophy of expansionism and the subsequent abuse of an indigenous people. In the Land of the Indians, white man's motive was to accumulate wealth through land acquisition and the exploitation of natural resources.
